OFWW HANDICAP INFORMATION 

 

PLAYDAY FLIGHT GROUPINGS

HC Indexes are used to determine the cut-offs for establishing the three Flights for Low, Middle, and High:handicap groups. The groups will be determined utilizing the Playday roster in Golf Genius at the 6:30 AM sign-up cutoff the day of the Playday. Flights will be filled from Low to High if there is not an exact number of Players to have the same number in each flight. The Payout schedule for all three flights will be established based on the number of players in the largest flight in they are not exactly even.  

 

 

 

USE OF FORWARD TEES

The OFWW by-laws state that for play days  "The primary tee will be the white tee markers.  If individuals elect to play from the gold, blue or forward (silver) tee markers instead, handicaps will be adjusted according to USGA guidelines for playing from different tees."   The USGA guidelines outline that, for competitions from different tees, handicaps will be adjusted based on the difference between the course ratings.  All players have the option of playing from the Silver/Forward tees if their Handicap Index plus Age equals 90 or Age>70. 

 

IF YOU NORMALLY PLAY FROM THE WHITE TEES IN PLAYDAYS, YOU SHOULD NOT MOVE UP TO THE SILVER TEES IN OUR MONTHLY BASHES.  Please continue to make our Bashes and Playdays enjoyable for all and follow the spirit of sportsmanship and fairness as we play this great game of golf together.

 

 

HANDICAP ADJUSTMENTS FOR BASHES

Starting in September we will apply the following USGA handicap adjustments in our monthly Bashes: 
1. Scrambles Team handicap
               A player = 25% handicap index
               B player = 20% handicap index
               C player = 15% handicap index
               D player = 10% handicap index
               Add all four indexes and subtract from the team gross score

2. Shambles:  All players = 70% of handicap

3. Two Best Ball: All players = 85% of  handicap
4. Pink Ball & Three Man Scramble: All players = 80% of handicap

5. Cha-Cha-Cha: 80% of handicap 

Golf Genius will make these adjustments based on your handicap index at the time of the Bash. 

 

MAX HANDICAPS FOR WHITE & SILVER/FORWARD TEES

For use at Playdays and Bashes

Max Hcp at White tees - (white tees rating - silver tees rating) = max hcp at silver tee.
